Lake Dillon snowpack 141 percent above normal

#Dillon, Colorado.

Snowpack in the Lake Dillon drainage is 141 percent above normal for this time of year and already is 112 percent above the average annual peak levels, according to a news release issued last week by Denver Water.
The news comes as a good sign as normal annual peak dates are still several weeks away, the release stated.
However, in an effort to maintain safe flows in the Blue River during the spring runoff, Denver Water officials plan to increase the reservoir’s outflows this week. Outflows have been running at about 300 cubic feet per second for the last several days, the release stated.
Denver Water plans to incrementally increase outflows to 400 cfs, with a 50 cfs increase scheduled for Monday, March 17 and another 50 cfs increase scheduled for Tuesday, March 18, the release stated.
