Gold Miner’s Snowshoe Hike

Breckenridge, Feb. 2
10 a.m., Iowa Hill Trailhead, Airport Road. Enjoy an easy guided hike through the historic Iowa Hill mine site, which takes you past mining artifacts and interpretive signs. Lean what life was like as a miner in the late 1800s and visit a restored miners’ boardinghouse. Weather permitting; Reservations required.

Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships

Breckenridge, Feb. 2-4
All Day, Breckenridge Riverwalk Center, 150 W. Adams Ave. The 25th Annual ISSC takes over Breckenridge. Throughout the five days (65 hours) of sculpting, teams create enormousworks of art from 12-foot-tall, 20-ton blocks of machine-made Colorado snow. Artists achieve finished pieces without the use of power tools, internal support structures or colorants. (970) 547-3179.
