Following break-ins, Summit County Sheriff’s office urges people to lock their car doors

#Breckenridge, Colorado.

Due to recent vehicle thefts, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public to remove keys from cars and lock vehicles at all times.
Two male juveniles are currently in custody in Fremont County, Wyoming, after being apprehended in a stolen vehicle. The boys confessed to stealing two vehicles in Summit County sometime in the last few weeks.
After running away from Delta, Colorado, the boys stole a series of vehicles left unlocked with keys inside.
The sheriff’s office urges everyone — residents and visitors — to always lock vehicles and remove any valuable items stored inside.
Although Summit County is a safe community, people should be mindful of others who take advantage of that level of comfort.
Residents are asked to report unfamiliar vehicles and people roaming neighborhoods and parking lots during the late evening and early morning hours by calling Summit County Dispatch at (970) 668-8600.
