Frisco seeks volunteers for Colorado BBQ Challenge

#Frisco, Colorado.

The town of Frisco is soliciting the help of volunteers for the 21st annual Colorado Barbecue Challenge.
The challenge takes place Friday, June 13 to Saturday, June 14. The London Souls are scheduled to kick off the event with a concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 12.
The challenge would not be possible without the generous support of volunteers, a town of Frisco news release stated. In exchange for their time, volunteers not only get the opportunity to eat barbecue, but also receive a free Colorado Barbecue Challenge t-shirt.
The annual event attracts about 25,000 to 30,000 visitors, which requires about 350 volunteers to sell beer, tickets, move tables and check IDs. Volunteers in all capacities also serve as ambassadors during this event putting a friendly and welcoming face on the BBQ Challenge, the release stated.
“We absolutely could not host an event of this size and fun factor without committed volunteers,” said Nora Gilbertson, town of Frisco events manager, in the release. “Volunteers are the backbone of all of Frisco’s events, but the BBQ Challenge owes the lion’s share of its success to them.
“Rick and Judi Amico have done a tremendous job of organizing volunteers and showing them the love for many years, and it is so great that they continue in this role.”
Volunteers are invited to sign up online by going to www.friscobbq.com. Volunteers can choose the shift times and what type of volunteer position they would prefer by registering online.
