Copper Mountain Resort has received over 7 feet of snow so far in the 2013-14 season, showcasing some of the best early-season conditions in recent years.
With copious amounts of early-season snow, Copper Mountain this week announced the return of the Snow Day Pass. At $99, the pass provides guests with unlimited lift access at Copper Mountain any day the mountain receives 4 inches or more of new snow.
Copper Mountain averages 30 “snow days” each winter season, giving guests the best bang for their buck this winter.
“At $99 and with more than 30 snow days you can ski on the Snow Day Pass for a little more than $3 a day,” said Dwight Eppinger, Copper Mountain’s director of marketing. “Plus, we give you two free days — Super Bowl Sunday and closing day — so automatically guests get two Snow Day ski passes for $99.”
Super Bowl Sunday takes place Feb. 2, 2014, and closing day at Copper is scheduled for April 20, 2014, Eppinger said.
Snow Day Pass holders can find snow day announcements beginning at 5:30 a.m. at www.coppercolorado.com, by signing up for the Daily Mountain Report, by checking out the live Snow Stake Web Cam or by following Copper Mountain at www.facebook.com/CopperMtn or @CopperMtn on Twitter.
The Snow Day Pass is available for a limited time only at the $99 price. Beginning Jan. 1, 2014, the cost will increase to $119. The pass can be purchased online at www.coppercolorado.com/snowdaypass or in person at any guest services location.
“The pass makes a great holiday gift for that skier or rider in your life or a great excuse for you to use some sick days this winter and share some snow days with Copper,” Eppinger said.
With the National Weather Service calling for 20 to 30 percent chances of snow through Sunday, Snow Day Pass holders could find themselves reaping the additional benefit of sharing the slopes with pro athletes during the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix at Copper Mountain.
The Grand Prix takes place from Thursday, Dec. 19, through Sunday, Dec. 22, and will feature the world’s top athletes throwing their biggest and best tricks in both slopestyle and half-pipe competitions.
The Grand Prix marks the final U.S. Olympic Team qualifying event hosted in Colorado for freeskiers and snowboarders looking to punch their ticket to the games in Sochi, Russia.
New this season, spectators can watch the high-flying action of snowboarding and freeskiing events in Copper’s Main Vein Superpipe under the lights on Friday, Dec. 20, and Saturday, Dec. 21.
