After multiple pivots, developers look to solidify plans for highly anticipated Peak 8 development by working through key issues with Breckenridge officials

This map shows the six main parcels involved with redeveloping the East Peak 8 and North Gondola lot developments. Parcel 1 is the North Gondola lot. Parcel 2 is the North Gold Rush lot. Parcel 3 is the South Gold Rush lot. Parcel 4 is the site of the East Peak 8 development. Parcel 5 is a Vail Resorts-owned lot near 4 O’Clock Run. Parcel 6 is a resort-owned lot near Timber Trail Road. 




It’s gone through multiple names. It’s gone through multiple concepts. It’s gone through multiple developers.

Years after the original proposal, Breckenridge looks to finalize plans for a development on Peak 8, now in the hands of local developer Breckenridge Grand Vacations. 

After vacating the preapproved 2021 plans this summer, Breckenridge Grand Vacations is looking to modify the direction it is taking with the development. Now with a site set for a hotel — where the ski area’s administrative parking lot for the ski resort currently is — developers are looking to paint a clearer picture for a finalized development concept.

Breckenridge Grand Vacations reviewed the proposed changes and discussed key issues associated with the development at a special meeting with Breckenridge Town Council Friday, Oct. 6.
